I like to have a baseline of at least one initiative going strong, essentially without the need for active management. At present, for me, that initiative is fitness.
I've been consistent with a diet and a gym routine for 5 months and counting. I don't need to actively put mental energy into this initiative, I just keep on doing it. This is exactly what I want for all my initiatives, but naturally it's not that simple.
My main other focus—starting a Youtube channel—is not at all on autopilot. This initiative takes active mental energy and some amount of willpower to push through friction whenever I work on it. This is normal for new initiatives, but it's still not an ideal state.
The point here though is that even when the Youtube mission feels like it's not on track (See the 100 videos by year end goal in [[Goals 2025]]...), I can stop to think about the other initiative that is going very well.
It serves as a baseline that I can fall back on in times of doubt, and remind myself that things are actually progressing quite well overall, I just need to keep on pushing in areas where the mission has not yet reached escape velocity.
