- the only thing wrong with any of this is the dishonesty
- maybe its not dishonest per se, but it is out of touch with reality
- if you own something it becomes your responsibility. this is a double edged sword: yes, you have to take care of it but also yes, _if you do take care of it_ you will not lose it
- the "buy" button on many sites should be replaced with "rent for life*" where "life" refers to the company you are renting from, not to you yourself
- what if google widevine stops working for whatever reason? what if I want to revisit these videos in 5 years but the web of DRM has completely moved on?
- what if my internet goes out or I decide to cancel my subscription? Maybe I can get buy on a trickly from by tethering to my mobile provider on occasions.
