# Claude is replacing my Mac apps
Today I took a look through the apps I have in Setapp, specifically, and found that quite a few are either irrelevant or are completely superseded by Claude.
Either b/c asking Claude to get something done is more efficient, or because it can simply create my own personal version of an app. Without any features I don't use.
Opus 5.5[^1] passed a threshold. I didn't realize it until I started asking it to fix my personal computing but its now good enough to rewrite most software you would use on your Mac.
This is really exciting. I can see why people get so excited about Omarchy. Taking the "rewrite it" approach to the whole OS is a dream if you like tinkering with your software.
[^1]: I find it interesting that its almost exactly a year after Opus 4.5 which _also_ crossed a threshold. Roughly around last November the need to write code manually dropped dramatically.
